The Coronavirus pandemic begun to take a stranglehold in the UK in early 2020, the impact we would see on society was largely underestimated. As we travelled through 2020 the gravity of the pandemic became apparent. The UK Government made decisions to build supplementary healthcare facilities to support the number of hospitalisations, one of which being the NHS Nightingale Hospital built in London. In March of 2020, Nexus took an urgent request to supply over 100 Nex-Wash clinical wash hand basin IPS units to the hospital. Whilst navigating through the challenges of ensuring that Nexus Solutions employees were working in a safe environment the business responded to the urgent request.
The Nex-Wash clinical wash hand basin IPS units are made entirely within Nexus’s manufacturing facility, using their own labour, local suppliers, and supply chain partners. For this reason, it was possible to speed up production to meet the timeframes required. Adaptations and amendments were quickly worked through with the in-house design and CAD team, enabling Nexus to respond to requests for additional sanitary products, taps and fixtures. All Nex-Wash units come with the in-built property of being antibacterial and antifungal making it the ideal material for use in the Nightingale Hospital.
The 100+ Nex-Wash units were manufactured and delivered within 14 days, this level of service was enormously appreciated and resulted in the following customer testimonial: “Thank you to Nexus Solutions for their quick, speedy and efficient turnaround of the Nex-Wash Units they manufactured and delivered to the nightingale hospital. Nexus Solutions went above and beyond in the middle of a global pandemic and we could not have asked for more”.
